توجد عدد من اللغات التي نزلت بها كل من التوارة والزبور والإنجيل والقران الكريم و هذه الكتب السماوية في بدايتها كانت تنزل باللغة السامية ، وهي لغة سام ابن النبي نوح عليه السلام.

أما الإنجيل فنزل باللغة السريانية , وهو كتاب نزل به سيدنا عيسى عليه السلام وقد اضطر لترجمة كتابه إلى بني قومه للغة العبرية.
وقد نزل القران الكريم على سيد الخلق محمد عليه الصلاة و السلام باللغة العربية ، وتعتبر تلك اللغة هي لسان جديد ولغة واضحة.
